Cornish energy broker Total Energy Solutions has been shortlisted in this year’s Western Morning News (WMN) Business Awards.
The Stoke Climsland based family firm is one of three businesses selected to battle it out for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award. As revealed in the WMN and on Devon Live last week, Total Energy Solutions are up against two other companies in the CSR category - St Austell Brewery and web design company Leap, both from St Austell.
Businesses entering the category had to "demonstrate how they make a social, economic and environmental impact by working with communities and charitable groups, developing relationships with employees and customers and engaging in environmental protection and sustainability".
Total Energy Solutions’ entry covered its extensive work in employability mentoring, its ethos of working ethically and responsibly, regular donations of both time and profit to charitable causes, and its own office environmental policies.
Managing director Alastair Carnegie said: “We are truly over the moon to have been shortlisted in such an important category at one of the most prestigious business events held in the region.
"We've been shortlisted against two amazing businesses and wish them both good luck on the night."
The winners of 13 different awards will be unveiled at a black tie awards ceremony at the Crown Plaza in Plymouth on November 22.
